Working student (m/f/d) Geoinformatics / Computer Science
15-20 hours per week
at our location in Hamburg (hybrid).
HanseCom Public Transport Ticketing Solutions GmbH develops digital solutions for public transportation and Mobility-as-a-Service. Our products and platforms are used by transportation companies and transit authorities in Germany, Europe, and North America.
As a working student (m/f/d), you will support us in developing new products and services in the areas of routing, information, and mobility services. You will work on innovative solutions based on modern geographic and mobility data and contribute your own ideas from the concept to the prototype.
Your tasks
- Collaborate on the development of new products and services in the areas of mobility, routing, and passenger information
- Assist in defining, designing, and further developing new service offerings for transit agencies and mobility providers
- Analyze market requirements, use cases, and technological possibilities
- Develop concepts and prototypes for digital mobility solutions
- Analysis, processing, and integration of geographic and traffic data
- Processing of OpenStreetMap data, GTFS, and other mobility data formats
- Support in setting up routing, mapping, and information services
- Creation of data analyses and geographic data visualizations
- Collaboration on the system and service architecture of new solutions
- Support for client projects, feasibility studies, and proof-of-concepts
- Documentation of concepts, results, and solution approaches
Your profile
- Currently pursuing a degree in geoinformatics, computer science, or a related field
- Interest in developing data-driven products in the areas of mobility, geodata, and public transportation
- Pogramming experience, for example with Java, Python, or JavaScript
- Basic knowledge of GIS, geodata processing, or spatial databases
- Interest in routing, network analysis, or digital mobility platforms
- Analytical and structured approach to work
- Initiative, creativity, and a willingness to explore new topics independently
- Good language skills in English or German
Considered an advantage are
- Knowledge of OpenStreetMap (OSM)
- Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) or the processing of geographic and motion data
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS
- Experience with Docker, Linux, or cloud technologies
- Experience with REST APIs
- Interest in routing, navigation, or mobility applications
